Module 2 - Design the Network Structure
Section 5 - Select Routing and Bridging Protocols
Pretty Paper Ltd.: Solution
1. Are there any protocols between the facilities
that cannot be routed?
2. Who will you contact to determine which protocol
to use for the router providing Internet connectivity?
-
Contact the ISP to coordinate the configuration.
3. Because all the remote sites have Cisco routers
attached to the WAN, which routing protocol is the
most efficient for implementation?
-
There are three protocols (IP, IPX, and AppleTalk) at Pretty Paper, and
all routers are from Cisco. Because Enhanced IGRP has protocol-dependent
modules that support IP, IPX, and AppleTalk, a single routing protocol
can be used for all three protocols.
