Module 3 - Build a Prototype or Pilot for the Network Structure
Section 1 - Build the Prototype or Pilot
Jones, Jones, & Jones: Solution
-
The firm has decided to implement one U.S. office and the Europe office
as a prototype network. Describe a project plan (at a high level) that
will pilot the system to prove the concept for a full implementation.
-
The main office should be the U.S. office used in the pilot. At a minimum
it will be necessary to purchase the following for the pilot:
-
Cisco 3640 router
-
Cisco Catalyst 2820 switch
-
Cisco 1603 router
-
File server
-
CD-ROM server
-
Fax server
-
Necessary modems and services for at least one each of ISDN and async dial-in
-
Both offices should be fully cabled for the final design and the facilities
in both appropriately prepared.
-
A detailed project plan should be developed and the systems installed and
tested with the same attention to detail required for a full implementation.
