Section 1 - Build the Prototype or Pilot

1. The firm has decided to implement one U.S. office and the Europe office as a prototype network. Describe a project plan (at a high level) that will pilot the system to prove the concept for a full implementation.

• The main office should be the U.S. office used in the pilot. At a minimum it will be necessary to purchase the following for the pilot:
 
• Cisco 3640 router
• Cisco Catalyst 2820 switch
• Cisco 1603 router
• File server
• CD-ROM server
• Fax server
• Necessary modems and services for at least one each of ISDN and async dial-in
 
• Both offices should be fully cabled for the final design and the facilities in both appropriately prepared.

 
• A detailed project plan should be developed and the systems installed and tested with the same attention to detail required for a full implementation.
